The farm sanctuary is a large, open space surrounded by mountain views which creates a dramatic stay. The main barn space houses all of the wonderful, rescued farm animals to include donkeys, pigs, sheep, and bulls. The whole barn is accessible to you, but your loft area is completely private and will not be accessed by anyone else. Downstairs at the barn, the owners have a very own made Pigcasso wine for sale and there is also wine tasting available during the day from 9 am until 5 pm. You can come and relax with a glass of their very unique Pigcasso wine
If you love animals, designer space, and something along the road less traveled, this barn-style house is for you. There is also satellite TV. You’ll want to note that the barn is cleaned daily at 9 and 4 pm for 30 minutes and the basement has public access during the day for wine tasting a well for anyone who can come in during the day. The lost space remains private and only assemble by guests. Guests can also join and assist with the farm animal feeding is wished.
Franschhoek is a renowned town with everything you need to savor the good life. During your vacation stay, you can enjoy plenty of fresh air, peace, and the country’s culinary capital. The barn-style house has ample parking, accessible to taxi services, and is within 10 minutes walking distance of Franschhoek. You can also use Uber as well as Franschhoek’s Tuk Tuk Service, a transport service and also provides tours.
The Tourism Office also has maps of the Historic Village Walk, a self-guided stroll into Franschhoek’s past. You can take a stroll up old Cat se Pad, a walking trail that starts on your left just a short walk (just under one kilometer) from the Huguenot Memorial Museum as you head out of town up the Franschhoek Pass. The walk leads into fynbos with proteas and gives instant access to the mountains surrounding the valley, with good views. The first two-kilometer of the walk section gets you to the top of the pass, and you can keep going for another 10km in the direction of Villiersdorp (though you don’t reach it). The Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve offers beautiful fynbos, mountains, and magnificent views of the Franschhoek Valley, Wemmershoek Dam parts of Theewaterskloof Dam, and on a clear day, you may even see Table Mountain. The paths are beautifully maintained and very clearly marked.
